This position provides case management and supportive services reflective of the Wellspring mission that are designed to strengthen the well-being and development of families and individuals. Required experience and Knowledge: Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field; Knowledge of community resources; Previous experience working with the people in a social services setting. The Wellspring has current openings for two full-time Shelter Advocates. The hours are evenings 2:00-11:00 and Graveyard 11:00-8:00. The days will vary.This position is responsible for providing safe shelter for battered women and their children.  The Shelter Advocate works to empower battered and abused women and their children to make choices that result in safe, independent and violence-free lives. Required experience and knowledge: minimum of high school education; two years’ experience working with people; knowledge of household management skills. The Wellspring has a full-time position for an Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant in Shreveport, LA. This position provides consultation to child care centers and family child care homes to increase the quality of child care in Louisiana. Consultant will conduct seminars with staff and parents, facilitate social skills groups, model appropriate caregiving techniques, and meet with parents. Consultants must have the ability to conceptualize a variety of cases including attachment problems, challenging behavior, developmental delays or other mental health problems, relationship difficulties etc. They must be accountable for all required documentation of services & contacts. Experience and requirements: Masters or Ph.D. in Counseling, Social Work, Counseling Psychology or closely related field required; must be license eligible in the state of Louisiana; must have specialized training in infant mental health or be able to complete training; must be able to form working relationships with center staff, children, & families; reliable transportation required; computer/laptop required; flexibility to allow working with providers’ schedules & daily operation conflicts required; two years clinical experience with children & adults preferred; knowledge of child development & child care practices preferred; physical ability to visit centers, complete consultations & documentation; strong written & oral communication skills; and ability to organize & manage time.
